Jen believes that every client comes with a unique set of world views and values, which should be integrated into their therapeutic journeys. This leads to a focus on acceptance and commitment therapy to support clients. She also encourages clients to recognise their thinking patterns to rewrite their narratives and reduce barriers through modalities in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).

As a new mum herself, she is passionate about working with women clients to navigate significant milestones through marriage preparation, fertility journeys, pregnancy, postpartum moods, return to work, and motherhood. She is particularly interested in the relationship between mothers and daughters, exploring the body of work around Mother Hunger, in guiding women to find more wholeness in their personal relationships.

As Jen had spent most of her career in finance and consumer industries, before becoming a startup entrepreneur herself, she intimately understands the challenges that high-stress and high-stakes professionals have, in managing personal relationships, anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation. In particular, she works with clients to identify and resolve difficulties around performance anxiety, burnout, work-life integration, toxic masculinity, and stigmas around mental health at the workplace. Having coached and mentored dozens of startup entrepreneurs, she assists clients in exploring career transitions and growth.
Having also moved between Hong Kong, Vancouver, Shanghai, and now Singapore, she collaborates with clients to navigate changes around acculturation and relocations.

Originally born in HK but grew up in Vancouver before a decade-long career around China, Jen spent most of her life navigating cultural nuances to become a bridge between the East and the West. As she also had a few careers across different industries, Jen is curious about everything and is always eager to learn and push new boundaries. In her free time, this sentiment is reflected in her love for reading and traveling to off-the-beaten-path excursions (having been to 50+ countries to date). She speaks Mandarin, Cantonese, and English fluently, with a basic command of Bahasa Indonesian. As such, Jen understands both the Asian/Chinese and expat perspectives to navigate life in Asia. She is recently a new mum and learning about the joys of caring for her son. In tandem with completing her Master's degree, Jen is also working full-time with a renowned regional venture capital fund. Jen graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Entrepreneurship.

Jen is currently completing her practicum placement at Holding Ground (Psychology Practice) as part of the requirement for completing a Masters of Counselling programme. She is available on Wednesday morning and Friday afternoon. Her practice is closely supervised by Ms Yammie Chin, Co-Founder and Principal Clinical Psychologist from Holding Ground (Psychology Practice) to ensure quality client care.
